“Brothers and sisters, you are holy partners in a heavenly calling” (Hebrews 3:1 GW).You can’t fulfill God’s call for your life on your own. It’s impossible, because calling and community go together.

It’s like the parts of your body. They’re worthless unless they’re connected. You may have an extremely gifted eyeball—it has the ability to take light, translate that light into your brain, and let you see things. But an eyeball that’s disconnected from your body is worthless because it can’t see anything.

You have an ear that is an amazing gift of God. Your ear can take sound waves, turn them into impulses to your brain, and let you hear what’s happening around you. But if your ear is disconnected from your body, it’s worthless.

In the same way, you must be connected to the body of Christ to fulfill your calling.

The Bible says, “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future” (Ephesians 4:4 NLT).

You’re created to complete your calling in the community with other believers, where you work together and support one another. Consider how the eye and the ear work together to support the whole body. In the same way, all believers “are holy partners in a heavenly calling” (Hebrews 3:1 GW).

This week when you’re at church, take a look around. The people you’re looking at are “holy partners” in God’s calling on your life. You need them, and they need you.

You simply can’t fulfill God’s call without them.PLAY today’s audio teaching from Pastor RickTalk It Over
