Your Desires and God’s Higher Plan

Ephesians 3:20-21 (GNB), 1 Corinthians 2:9-10
To him who by means of his power working in us is able to do so much more than we can ever ask for, or even think of: to God be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus for all time, for ever and ever! Amen. *But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Jesus assured us that when we ask, we shall receive; that when we seek, we shall find; and that when we knock, the door shall be opened to us. He noted that if earthly parents who are evil can give good gifts to their children, how much more will our Father in Heaven give good things to them that ask Him (Matt.7:7-11). Rather than God ignoring your prayers or giving you less than that which you ask, God has the ability to not only answer your prayers but to give you that which far exceed all that you seek- all because He loves you abundantly.

The plan that God has for your life abundantly exceeds that which you have for yourself. It is better than what you have seen, heard or ever imagined. As you trust in Him concerning that desire you have, He will do so much more than you expect.

Abraham was old and childless. Although he desired a child, God did not just give him a child. In line with God’s plan for his life, God made him a father of many nations. Hannah was barren for many years and she too desired a child from the Lord. Again, God did not just give her a child. God gave her one of the greatest prophets Israel ever had- Samuel. He did not stop there. The Bible recounts, “And the Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the Lord” (1 Samuel 2:21). In Joseph’s dream, he saw his father, mother and brothers bowing down before him. But in God’s plan, the entire world would bow down to him as they came to patronize his storehouses in Egypt.

God will not just answer your prayer. In line with His plan for your life, He will give you something bigger and better than what you are asking for.

Action Point:
Pray unto God about that desire in your heart and thank Him for the bigger and better way He will answer your prayers.
