“From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part maketh, increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”
Ephesians 4:16 KJV
God wants us to grow up into Christ in all things because Christ is the Head of the Body. Christ is the reference point for the Church and we are expected to shoot towards being like Christ in all things. We are expected to do the things which He did when He walked the surface of the earth. Every believer, whether you are an accountant, a lawyer, a judge, doctor, nurse or whatever your profession is, whatever part you are playing in the Body, you are expected to grow up into Christ in all things. Your part is important! Your part matters!
You may not be the pastor, the apostle, the prophet, the evangelist or the teacher, you may just be taking care of the equipment in the church but anything you say must bless somebody. That’s what I am drawing your attention to today. The whole Body must grow up together. You don’t have to be an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor or teacher before you become part of this growth. A pastor is a ‘nobody’ if he does not have people. Who will the evangelist preach to if there are no people? Who will the prophet prophesy to? Who will the apostle come to uplift and encourage? Who will the teacher inform?
Many times, we forget the ministry behind the ministry simply because the showman is the man that stands on the stage. Without the people that are behind the ministry, there can be no showman, I don’t care how anointed any man is. Let God personally lay His hand on the person; if he comes to the rostrum and there is no ministry behind the ministry that have done the job behind the scene, his anointing will fall flat on its face. If there are no people who have prayed behind the scene, nothing happens.
