Zeal Born Out of Love

Genesis 29:20 (GNB), Hebrews 12:2, 1 Corinthians 15:10 (TPT).
Jacob worked seven years so…he could have Rachel, and the time seemed like only a few days to him, because he loved her. *Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. *…God’s amazing grace has made me who I am! And his grace to me was not fruitless. In fact, I worked harder than all the rest, yet not in my own strength but God’s, for his empowering grace is poured out upon me.

Being zealous is to be enthusiastic, fervent and passionate about something or someone. People who are zealous about what they do are more effective and influential than others who are not. Being zealous also helps you remain committed to a cause, particularly in challenging times and under unfavourable conditions. As a child of God, it is God’s desire for you to be zealous in every aspect of your life and in everything you do. God wants this zeal to be anchored in your consciousness of His great love for you which was revealed through Christ. Colossians 3:17 & 23 (TPT ) says, “Let every activity of your lives and every word that comes from your lips be drenched with the beauty of our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One. And bring your constant praise to God the Father because of what Christ has done for you!” *”Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others.”

God has both great plans and great rewards in store for you. Don’t lose site of this reality. It is God Himself who will reward you for every good thing that you do (Eph.6:8). God will not forget your labour of love (Heb.6:10). As the love of God fills your heart, you will find yourself willingly doing things that are seem difficult to others. The love of God in your heart will cause you to be so zealous that you will find yourself working harder and being more committed tjan others. This was what propelled Apostle Paul to work even more than other Apostles. You are the joy that was set before Jesus that cause Him to despise the shame and endure the cross. His love for you exceeded the humiliation and pain of the cross. I pray that God’s love will so fill your heart and produce greater zeal in you.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please fill my heart with the revelation of your love and let your love produce great zeal in me for all areas of my life.
