CHRISTMAS: THE BIRTH OF OUR CHAMPION

Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Christmas is very special to us because it is the celebration of the precious One who God sent to rescue us, give us hope and restore us to the realm of God’s life and glory. Christmas represents the beginning of the best thing that ever happened to man. Christmas is a celebration of the hope, life, glory, power and the blessings of God that we now experience because of Jesus. God sent Jesus to make all these possible for us because of how much He loves us and how much He wants us to experience His abundant grace and glory in our lives.

Before His birth, everything pointed to Him and now after His death, burial and resurrection for us, everything points back to Jesus. The world is yet to recover from the great impact that the birth of Jesus brought to the earth. He came to change the negative course of life that the sin of Adam brought upon all mankind. He came to start a new race upon the earth. He came to raise us up to the realm of God’s glory and make us just like Him. He came to take away all our sins and bring us eternally into the family of God.

Jesus did not only come down to earth as our champion, He came to make us champions. Jesus did not just come to show us who God is, He came to show us who we are supposed to be when we have the life of God in us. Jesus came to show us how special we are and the great value God has placed on us. When I think of all that God went through for Jesus to come down to this earth, it baffles me how much God really loves us. God was willing to make the amazing sacrifice to become a man and be born into this world so He could identify with us, help us and save us, even when we did not deserve it all.

Celebration Guide:
Thank God for the hope, life, blessings and salvation that Jesus brought us. Pray for Jesus to be born into the lives of more people.
