Supernatural settlement can only be found in Jesus Christ.

TOPIC: FOCUS ON CHRIST FOR SUPERNATURAL SETTLEMENT

TEXT: Jeremiah 29:11; 2Thess. 3:3;
1 Peter 2:9-10; 5:10

INTRODUCTION:
This world is full of struggle, troubles and challenges which are
sometimes insurmountable. [Job
14:1]. Man can continue this daily struggle if he fails to recognise and
accept the divine or Supernatural settlement provided by God.
Settlement is rest from struggle or rest in God’s faithfulness. In Christ, we have divine settlement.
In material things, health, protection, there is divine settlement when we allow God have His way in our lives. Daily cast your burden upon Christ
1 Peter 5:10-11.
Focus on Christ, for He alone can make you perfect, establish,
strengthen and settle you in this life’s journey.

LESSON OBJECTIVES
At the end of this lesson, we shall be able to:

explain how to focus on Christ for supernatural settlement;
describe how some of life’s situations can disorganise the lives of people today;
identify some scriptural instances of divine settlement: God settles a man; and
explain what happens when God to attract supernatural
discuss some ways settlement.

BIBLE TRUTH:
Q1. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO FOCUS
ON CHRIST FOR SUPERNATURAL
SETTLEMENT?
To focus on Christ is to be intentionally “blind” after you have made your choice to follow Him. This means you follow His instructions and totally depend on Him for every of your needs. [Phil.4:19]. Supernatural settlement comes into place at the altar of prayers with a strong desire to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. [Matt 6:33]. Furthermore, you must rely and depend on Him daily to overcome life’s challenges.
To focus, increases your fire or energy to do His will.
Everything about us as Christians is supernaturally designed by God.

02: HOW CAN THE FOLLOWING LIFE’S SITUATIONS DISORGANISE THE LIVES OF PEOPLE TODAY?
1 Sam. 1:6; 2Kings 4:1]
(a) FINANCIAL INSECURITY: 2Kings 4:1 Poor people and debtors like the poor widow of a late prophet, always face
disorganising life’s situation.
Her two sons who were her
companions were to be taken away from her by the late husband’s creditors, until God intervened through Prophet Elisha. The woman’s creditor was not acting in the spirit of
God’s law. [Deut. 15:7-10,62]. Many in our world are in this disorganised life’s situation due to the harsh
economic policies of governments of nations.
[b] HEALTH CRISIS: A visit to any hospital ward in our cities will reveal ill health as causing a disorganised life situation. The high cost of health care in the world, in addition to the issue of fake drugs, and quacks among the medical personnel have sent many to their graves.
[cl MARITAL CRISIS: Hannah’s marital crisis is a good example of what can cause an unsettled life’s condition.
Hannah’s barrenness was a social embarrassment to her husband and herself.
Peninnah, her mate compounded her situation with her constant harassment[1 Sam. 1:6]. Many couples today in our world are in this
unsettled life’s situation.
Apart from barrenness, a lot of other marital issues abound.
d] SOCIAL UNREST: Social unrest constitutes one of the greatest human problems that has caused unsettled life situation in our world today.
Most human habitations have turned to various modes of social unrest, such as armed robbery, kidnapping for ransom, sexual abuse, gang raping, thuggery, social media fraud, recklessness among the teens and youth, injustices,etc. These social unrests take place in broad day light with impunity.
e] PERSONAL LOSS: The personal loss of valuable items can lead to unsettled life’s situation in an
individual. For instance, someone whose properties are lost to thieves, fire outbreak, storms, flood, etc. can become devastated.
|f] FRUITLESS LIFE’S
ENDEAVOURS: – Peter at the
beginning, doubted Jesus fishing capabilities, but his doubts dissolved when Jesus miraculously provided a large number of fishes in his nets.
This was divine settlement for
him.
In all of these situations above, the God of all creation can provide
Supernatural settlement for all who put their trust and confidence in Him.

Q3. READ THE FOLLOWING AND
IDENTIFY INSTANCES OF DIVINE
SETTLEMENT. Ex. 3:7-8, Gen. 21:1-2; 41:39-44; Job 42:10-16; Lk. 5:5-6]
[a] God acknowledged that He had seen and heard about the problems and afflictions of His people in Egypt and decided to be personally
involved in their deliverance and resettle them in the promised land. This supernatural settlement comes after 40 years of wilderness experience.
[b] God divinely settled Sarah, [Abraham’s wife] after years of bareness, by giving her Isaac. This indeed was a divine settlement after 25years of God’s promise to bless them with a child who will become a father of nations.
[c] Joseph, through God’s divine plan eventually received his settlement.

Q4: WHAT DOES THISbTEACH US ABOUT GOD?
The above incidences/instances of divine settlement show that God sees and hears when they that put their trust in Him Cry unto Him. The
supernatural settlemnent that God provides for His children is at His own timing and plan.
Furthermore, God can lift up anyone He delights in. It must be emphasised that God delights in mercy rather than
judgement in human relationships. Faith in God’s word usually triggers divine settlement to challenges of
life. Why

Q5: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN GOD SETTLES A MAN? [Ex. 33:14; Isaiah
26:3: Psalm 1:1-3; 138:8; Jere 29: 11].
Whenever someone experiences divine settlement, that person enjoys complete rest and peace from his
labour. Although we can never avoid strife in the world, with God we can experience perfect peace even in turmoil.
When we receive God’s settlement, we are not shaken by the prevailing chaos [Phil.4:7]. Similarly, the man God settles will prosper in all he does.

Q6. DISCUSS SOME WAYS TO EXPERIENCE SUPERNATU RAL
SETTLEMENT.
[a] SEEKING THE LORD ALWAYS
Matt.6:33; Psalms 27:41:
To attract God’s supernatural
settlement, you must give Him the first place in every area of your life. Seek God, His kingdom and His
righteousness then He will settle you.
[b] ALWAYS TRUSTING AND
OBEYING GOD. [Jn. 15:10;Prov. 3:3-5]: Godliness involves three basic elements – LOVE, OBEDIENCE AND UNITY. By living Godly lives, we learn to see things as God does and adopt
His word as our only standard. God knows what is best for us. We must trust Him completely in every choice
we make. We must not be wise in our own eyes but be willing to listen and be corrected by God’s word.
c| PRAYER AND THANKSGIVING.
Phil. 4:6; 1Thess. 5:17-18]:
We all have issues in some areas of our lives but Scripture advises us
to turn our worries into prayers. Brethren cultivate the habit of praying without ceasing.
[d] SEEK GOD’S WISDOM [James 1:5]: To attract supernatural settlement, we need the ability from God, to
make wise decisions in all
circumstances. Every one of us needs practical discernment [wisdom] to go
through these uncertain times.
God is willing to give us His wisdom only if we avoid self centered goals. Lk. 18:27.
le] LIVING A LIFE OF FAITH.
[Lk. 18:27; Heb. 11:1, 6]:
“With God all things are possible'” is a language of faith and without faith in God, we can never please Him. Two
words describe our faith
CONFIDENCE AND CERTAINTY; the first is believing in God’s character
and secondly believing in God’s promises. Anyone who acts in faith on the knowledge of God that he possesses will be rewarded with supernatural settlement in every area of need.
[f] BE STILL AND WAIT ON THE
LORD (Psalms 46:10; Isaiah 40:31; 1 Peter 5:10):
Waiting upon the Lord is expecting His promised strength to help us rise above life’s distractions and difficulties.
Note that trials, challenges, are temporary in the light of eternity.

DAILY LIVING APPLICATION:
God almighty is still settling His children today. Whatever situation you are going through, focus on
Christ, meditate on His promises. Beloved brethren have faith, patiently wait and look forward to His eternal
rest prepared for us. When God settles a people, He brings order, stability and prosperity to their lives. Note also, that there will always be
challenging situations, but the believer is not at the mercy of such challenges. We should not leave our lives to chance, for we have a loving
Father whom we can entrust our lives to. God delights in showing believers step by step, the way or path He has
chosen to lead us to divine
settlemnent in financial security,
health, marital relationship, social injustice, personal growth, etc.
Be careful to always seek the Lord, trust and obey Him, seek His wisdom, live a life of faith, be still and wait on Him in prayers and thanksgiving, to elicit divine supernatural settlement in
your life.
