DON’T ALLOW IT (1)

1SAMUEL 17:34-36 (CEV)

But David told him: Your Majesty, I take care of my father’s sheep. And when one of them is dragged off by a lion or a bear, I go after it and beat the wild animal until it lets the sheep go. If the wild animal turns and attacks me, I grab it by the throat and kill it. Sir, I have killed lions and bears that way, and I can kill this worthless Philistine. He shouldn’t have made fun of the army of the living God!

There are certain things that may be going wrong in your life or in the things you are engaged in, simply because you have chosen to allow it. And the reason you may be allowing those things to go wrong is because you feel powerless towards the situation, or you feel there’s nothing you can do about it. Sometimes, it may be because you think what is going wrong is not so important.

If David had gone back home to tell his father that a lion or bear had come to take one sheep, his father would not have done anything to him. But David chose not to allow that loss or any harm come to his father’s sheep. David was a good shepherd and like Jesus, he was willing to risk and lay his life down for the sheep, (John 10:11). He had an ownership mentality even over something that was not directly his own. It is very important that we have this mindset and attitude, especially as leaders. David’s attitude of taking responsibility for ensuring that things did not go wrong, was part of what God used to build his capacity and prepare him for the greater responsibility of being the king of Israel.

This mindset and attitude of David, came from his consciousness that he was in covenant with God, (1 Sam. 17:26, 36). By His death on the Cross, Christ has brought you into covenant with God, (Eph. 2:11-13).

FAITH DECLARATION:
I REFUSE TO LET THINGS GO WRONG AROUND ME. I AM IN COVENANT WITH GOD AND THINGS MUST GO RIGHT IN AND AROUND ME
