THIS IS THE LORD’S DOING (1)

2Corinthians 5:17-18 (NLT), Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)

..anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.*For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.

Your becoming a new creature was not in any way by your power or efforts. It was solely by the doing and grace of God. God sent Christ to earth to suffer and die for your sins, He sent the Gospel of Christ to you, and He gave you the faith and ability to receive the Gospel and become saved. No man can say Jesus is Lord without the help of the Holy Spirit, (1Cor. 12: 3).

In Hebrews 8:10 and Hebrews 10:16-17, we see the summary of what the New Covenant is. While the Old Covenant was about what man needed to do, the New Covenant is about what God has done in Christ. God said in the New Testament, He would put His laws in our minds and write them in our hearts, He will be our God and we will be His people, and He will never remember our sins again. God has accomplished all this through Christ and His Spirit now in us.

Therefore, we must continue to rejoice and thank God for His gift of salvation, and the many wonderful blessings that accompany this wonderful gift, (2Cor. 9:15). We must also continue to keep our faith in Him for He is always at work in us, making us willing and able to do His will, (Phil. 2:13). He that begun a good work in us will be faithful to complete it (Phil.1:6).

Prayer:
Thank you Father for providing for my salvation and enabling me receive it. Thank you for your continuous work in my life.
