GOD IS WILLING

Matthew 8:1-3 (AMPC)

When Jesus came down from the mountain, great throngs followed Him. And behold, a leper came up to Him and, prostrating himself, worshiped Him, saying, Lord, if You are willing, You are able to cleanse me by curing me. And He reached out His hand and touched him, saying, I am willing; be cleansed by being cured. And instantly his leprosy was cured and cleansed.*

It Is one thing to be convinced of what God can do, and It Is Ir to be convinced that God is willing to do that thing for you. The difference lies in your consciousness of God’s great love for you and your understanding of God’s will for you.

The leprous man in our text above knew that Jesus was able to heal him, but he was not sure if Jesus would want or be willing to heal him. Jesus was not only willing to heal him; He went ahead to touch him first before healing him. In the Old Covenant, people with leprosy were considered unclean and no one was meant to have any dealings with them (Lev. 13:45-46, Num. 5:2-3), yet Jesus lovingly touched him.

Sometimes, you may feel like you do not qualify or are not worthy to experience something, but God does not see you the way men see you or the way you see yourself. He sees you through the eyes of Christ and the Cross. The Cross of Jesus is the ultimate sign of how willing God is to touch you and manifest His power and grace in your life. God is willing to do it because He loves you. He loves you much more than any good earthly parent can love their child. It is His will for you to have good things, (Matt. 7:11). Ask and you shall receive. By your faith in Christ, you are righteous in God’s sight and you deserve His touch.

Father, I thank you for your great love for me. I know that you are able and willing to do all I ask you for right now
