THIS IS THE LORD’S DOING (2)

PSALMS 118:21-23 (KJV, NIV)

I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. *I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation. The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.

In our text above, the Psalmist was giving a prophetic message about Jesus and how God brought us salvation through Him.

In Acts 4:10-12 (NIV), Peter said, “…know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Jesus is, “‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Jesus was rejected by the Jews and handed over to be crucified, but God has raised Him up and gave Him a name above every other name and through which we are saved and we experience God’s miraculous saving power. “If the princes of this world had known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory,” (1Cor. 2:8).

“For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength,” (1Cor. 1:25). As Christ who is the all-powerful Son of God was dying on the Cross, He looked foolish and weak, but out of that seemingly foolishness and weakness, the mighty wisdom and power of God was manifested and made available for us. Halleluyah!

I THANK YOU DEAR FATHER, FOR THE GREAT SALVATION AND MIRACULOUS POWER YOU HAVE PROVIDED FOR ME THROUGH CHRIST.
