YOUR EFFORTS SHALL NOT BE IN VAIN

Psalms 127:1-2 (NIV), John 15:5 (GNB)

Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat—for he grants sleep to those he loves. *”I am the vine, and you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without me.

Your efforts will not be in vain because you will trust God, you will follow His leading, and you will do all you do by His empowerment. By this, God builds what you are involved in and you enjoy His protection and preservation. It is failure to trust God, follow His leading and work by HIs empowerment that make people struggle unnecessarily, and the things they achieve end up being in vain.

God wants you to work hard and take precautions to protect yourself, but you must also trust Him and follow His leading. “The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD,” (Prov. 21:31). Psalms 127:2 (AMPC) says, “It is vain for you to rise up early, to take rest late, to eat the bread of [anxious] toil—for He gives [blessings] to His beloved in sleep.” The Message Bible says, “…Don’t you know he enjoys giving rest to those he loves?” You experience God’s rest when you trust in Him and follow His leading.

The blessing of the Lord makes rich (empowers you to prosper and succeed) and He adds no sorrow (struggle) with it, (Prov. 10:22). Instead of being anxious, pray with thanksgiving about the situation, (Phil. 4:6). God is more willing to give you what you desire and help you achieve your goals. Trust Him and follow His leading.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, my trust is in you. I receive your empowerment and direction for my life today, in Jesus name.
