CHRIST IN THE BOOK OF REVELATION (1)

REVELATION 1:1-2, 10-11A The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; …unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. *I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:…

The book of Revelation is beyond a book about certain supernatural events that will happen; it’s a book that reveals Jesus Christ. It reveals so many wonderful things about the person and glory of Christ, (John 5:39-40). John received this revelation of Christ while in isolation on the island of Patmos; where he was exiled for preaching the Gospel. Instead of feeling caged and limited by his punishment, he was in the Spirit, and it became an opportunity for Christ to be revealed to him.

Jesus was revealed to John as, “…the Faithful Witness, the Firstborn from among the dead and the ruling King, who rules over the kings of the earth! …the one who constantly loves us and has loosed us from our sins by his own blood, and …has made us to rule as a kingly priesthood to serve his God and Father…*…the Aleph (Alpha) and the Tav (Omega),” …the Lord God, “who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty,” (Rev.1:5-6, 8, TPT). John said Jesus’ “…head and…hair were white like wool… And his eyes were like flames of fire! His feet were gleaming like bright metal, as though they were glowing in a fire, and his voice was like the roar of many rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. And his face was shining like the brightness of the blinding sun! (Rev.1:14-16, TPT).

PRAYER:

FATHER, I THANK YOU FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF KNOWING CHRIST. PLEASE REVEAL THE PERSON AND GLORY OF CHRIST MORE AND MORE TO ME.
