Message

To get things done in life, it is important to follow instructions. Imagine for once a student who failed to read the instructions before attempting to answer his/her examination questions; or a nurse who failed to read the Doctor’s prescription before administering medication to the patient; or a pilot who took charge of a new model aircraft without going through the manual! The consequences in the above scenarios could be disastrous. Following instruction is an important life skill that students must master in everyday life. Success in life depends on adherence to specific instructions in various areas of life.

The same applies to the Christian life. Believers are expected to pay attention to instructions contained in the Bible pertaining to life and godliness. Our text today contains various specific instructions which believers must adhere to. These include (i) sincerity in worship (ii) assurance of faith (iii) heart purity (iv) consistent Christian living (v) charity (vi) good works and (vii) regular attendance at fellowship meetings.
