TOPIC: The Sword Of The Spirit (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 10 December 2019)

The MESSAGE:

The word of God is called the Sword of the Spirit. A sword is an offensive weapon of warfare. The word of God is one of the most potent weapons of spiritual warfare. It is unfortunate that many believers become casualties on the battlefield of life; when they should be victors, they are made victims by the enemy. The reasons for this abnormality is not far-fetched: believers are ignorant of their status as soldiers of Christ who should be fighting from a winning position (the victory has already been won for them by Christ). Believers are ignorant of the provisions God has made available for their continuous victory in life. They do not know most of the weapons God has made available for them and many who do, do not use them or do not know how to use them.

Your sword is in your mouth. You must use it for you to derive the benefits attached to it. By the working of the anointing upon David, he knew that his sword was in his mouth and he used the sword in his confrontation with Goliath. Goliath initiated the verbal war by cursing David in the name of his gods. David too utilized the sword in his mouth. David’s pronouncements in 1 Samuel 17:45-46 were prophetic, profound and game-changing. David told Goliath that though he (Goliath) had come to him with a sword, a spear and a shield, he (David) had come to him in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel whom he (Goliath) had defiled. That was the first death blow David landed on Goliath. It was the first attack with the Sword of the Spirit. The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous runneth into it and they are safe. At the mention of the name of the Lord, every knee should bow. The name of the Lord is a veritable weapon of spiritual warfare. With this, heaven was invited to fight for David and there was no way the gates of hell could prevail. Secondly, David prophesied and told Goliath that on that very day, not the next day or some days to come, the LORD would deliver him (Goliath) into his hand and he would take Goliath’s head and feed Goliath carcasses and of the hosts of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. David added that by the fulfilment of his prophecy, all the assembly would know that the LORD does not save by sword and spear and that the battle belongs to the LORD who would give the Philistines into the hands of Israel.

The truth to note here is that David knew the LORD his God. Hence, he was strong and he did exploits. He knew that the God of Israel is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. He knew that the God of Israel is the Lord of hosts and that He is mighty in battle. He professed that the battle was not between Goliath and David but between Goliath and Jehovah and knew that Goliath would soon fall down and die. David’s prophecy came to pass.

Beloved, what is that Goliath threatening your life, stealing your joy and peace and giving you sleepless nights? Arise and use the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God and the Goliath will fall, in Jesus’ name.

Wise soldiers do not manufacture weapons on the battlefield.

YOUR SWORD WILL TOUCH BLOOD AND YOUR ENEMIES WILL BE DEFEATED.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1 My Father, help me to utilize Your word as my potent spiritual weapon, in the name of Jesus.

2 O Lord, fill Your word in my mouth with great authority, in the name of Jesus.

3 I take the sword of the Spirit and cut down the head of my Goliath, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4 With my spiritual sword, I destroy the strong man assigned against me, in the name of Jesus.

5 I refuse to be a soldier without sword, in the name of Jesus.

6 I send the Sword of fire into the camp of my enemies, in the name of Jesus.

7 Sword of the Lord, cut down all household and environmental enemies assigned against me, in the name of Jesus.

266 Every evil handwriting about my children, by the power of God Almighty, be paralysed, in the name of Jesus.

267 Any power thinking evil concerning my children, die, in the name of Jesus.

268 You the miracles of my children, manifest and locate them, in the name of Jesus.

269 Every altar of darkness working against the destinies of my children, catch fire, in the name of Jesus

270 Satanic agents contracted against the destinies of my children, receive failure, in the name of Jesus.

271 The source of my joy over my children shall never dry up, in the name of Jesus.

272 O Lord, my God, let my children find favour and mercy before those who matter, in the name of Jesus.

273 l destroy by fire, every demonic instrument fashioned against the destinies of my children, in the name of Jesus.

274 Every human agent hindering and working against the marriage of my children, be exposed and die, in the name of Jesus

275 All boasting powers delegated against the marriage of my children, be silenced, in the name of Jesus.
