7 Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains.

8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.

9 Don’t grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!

10 Brothers, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

11 As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

Bible In One Year: Exodus 34-36; Matthew 23:1-22

MESSAGE:

One of the greatest mistakes a young boy or girl can make is to be in a hurry and go out of God’s plan for his or her life. For instance, if from Redemption Camp, you are to resume school in Ikorodu on Monday. then, you drive towards Ibadan on Sunday night, no matter how fast your driver is, you will land in the wrong place. However, the fellow who sets out to Ikorodu on Monday morning following the right route will get there èven if delayed by traffic congestion before the fellow go went through the Ibadan route. Therefore, in life’s journey, it is not how fast or how far but how well.

Don’t be a child who wants to get everything ‘sharp sharp’ as they say in Nigeria. This attitude has led many to taking different routes which end in destruction. Success is not achieved in a day. So, to excel academically. you must patiently study and not cheat. To make wealth, you have to patiently work hard and not steal. You must also be patient when making a request from God because through patience, you are made stronger in faith.

Prayer Point:

Do not allow impatience to push you into any vice.

Hymn 10: I Can Hear My Saviour Calling

  1. I Can Hear My Saviour Calling
I can hear my Saviour call-ing,
I can hear my Saviour call-ing,
I can hear my Saviour call-ing,
“Take thy cross and fol-Iow, fol- low Me.”

Chorus:
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.

  1. I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.
  2. I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.
  3. He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
And go with me, with me all the way.
