Topic: Faithful God [Open Heavens for Teens 13 June 2019]
Memorise: “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.” – Romans 3:4
Read: Lamentations 3:22-23
22 It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Bible In One Year: Ezra 3-5, John 20
MESSAGE:
Apart from grace, one other thing that God is unlimited in is faithfulness. Lamentations 3:23 says His faithfulness is great. God is not only faithful, He is incurably faithful. Being a faithful God entails fulfilling every promise made. It also means that in any situation that requires inputs from man and God, when man does his part, God will of necessity do His. In most agreements involving God and man, if there is a breech, the problem can never be from God; the problem is always from man. God simply can’t go back on His word, He is ever faithful.
Unfortunately, men take God’s faithfulness for granted. They take His acts of faithfulness like waking up daily for granted. God owes no man a debt. If He decides not to wake all mankind up one morning, no one can question Him. A man who is sleeping is half dead. Waking up after sleeping is a miracle only God can do. Stop taking such miracles as normal and for granted! Be grateful for each and every single act of God’s faithfulness in your life today.
Action Point:
Throughout today, be in an attitude of thanksgiving as you appreciate God for His faithfulness to you.

Hymn 8:
- Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise. - Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might;
Thy justice like mountains high soaring above,
Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love. - To all life thou givest to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish, but nought changeth Thee. - Great Father of Glory, pure Father of Light,
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
All laud we would render; o help us to see;
‘Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee. - Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.
