Read: John 16:13-14
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
Bible In One Year: Nehemiah 7-8, Acts 3
MESSAGE:
Many at times, people go to any length to prove that they are not lying so as to get what they want. After you might have fallen for their lies and have given them what they want, you will then find out that they lied. It is a very bad thing to fall for the deceit of liars, but do you know that you can become capable of detecting lies?
As a child of God, you can acquire the ability to detect lies through the help of the Holy Spirit. With the assistance of the Holy Spirit, you won’t only be able to discern all falsehood. For example, if you have Holy Spirit in you, you can tell that the boy claiming to love you now is only in sleeping with you. You can also tell when those who claim to be your friend are actually your enemies.
Note also that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth, therefore, just as He helps you detect other people’s lies, He will hinder you from telling lies yourself. This implies that if you still tell lies, then you don’t have the Holy Spirit in you.
Prayer Point:
Sweet Holy Spirit, come and dwell in me today.

Hymn 14:
1 O spread the tidings ’round,
Wherever man is found,
Wherever human hearts and
Human woes abound.
Let every Christian tongue
Proclaim the joyful sound:
The Comforter has come!
Chorus:
The Comforter has come!
The Comforter has come!
The Holy Ghost from heav’n,
The Father’s Promise giv’n,
O spread the tidings ’round,
Wherever man is found:
The Comforter has come!
2 The long, long night is past;
The morning breaks at last;
And hushed the dreadful wail
And fury of the blast,
As o’er the golden hills
The day advances fast!
The Comforter has come!
3 Lo, the great Kings of Kings,
With healing in His wings,
To every captive soul a full
Deliv’rance brings;
And thro’ the vacant cells
The song of triumph rings;
The Comforter has come!
4 O boundless love divine!
How shall this tongue of mine
To wond’ring mortals tell
The matchless grace divine-
That I, a child of hell,
Should in His image shine?
The Comforter has come!
