A STUDENT MUST STUDY

TEXT: 2 TIMOTHY 2:14-19

MEMORY VERSE: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 TIMOTHY 2:15).

J. Oswald Sanders stated, “In an age in which people have more leisure than ever before in the history of the world, many claim that they have no time to read. That excuse is never valid with a spiritual leader.”

One of the surest ways of acquiring knowledge is by reading books. Students who fail to study always live to regret the consequence of their action. Knowledge is potential power. It drives away ignorance and instills light for productivity and excellence. Apostle Paul challenged his spiritual son, Timothy, to give himself to studying the word of God and other related books. He made him to understand that studying would earn him mastery and competence in ministry as a preacher. He would be confident to preach because of his acquired knowledge through reading.

As a youth, are you reading relevant academic and religious books? Researches have shown that many students fail nowadays because they fail to read. The knowledge the examiners look for in exams is hidden in the books students fail to read. A student must study hard for excellence.
