LESSON FOURTEEN (14)
TOPIC: WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: (He Teaches Us)
MEMORY VERSE: John 14: 26b. “He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance.”
LESSON AIM: Holy Spirit is your teacher.
CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you hidden things.
INTRODUCTION: Knowledge is facts, ideas, concepts, theories etc, while wisdom is correct application knowledge. God is the originator of knowledge and the giver of wisdom therefore you need His Spirit, the Holy Spirit to teach you. David when faced with a devastating battle
inquired from God on how to go about it 1 Samuel 30:1-26, Solomon when chosen as king over the nation of Israel asked God for wisdom
to rule His people 1 Kings 3:3-28.
For you to succeed you need the Holy Spirit to teach you James 1;5
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS:
When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea, Philippi, He asked His disciples saying “Who do you men say that I, the son of Man am? Vs 13
A. So they said “some say John the Baptist, some Elijah and.others Jeremiah orone ofthe prophets. Vs 14.
B. He said to them “But who do you say that I am? Vs 15
C. Simon Peter answered and said “You are the Christ, the son of the living God”
D. Jesus answered and said to him “Blessed are you Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but my father who is in heaven” God revealed Jesus to Peter
through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our teacher and the revealer of hidden things, ask the Holy Spirit to teach you secret and hidden things.
And I also to you that you are Peter and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
CLIMAX: And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever
you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Peter was tremendously blessed for allowing the Holy Spirit to be his teacher. You too stand the chance of been blessed if you allow the
Holy Spirit to be your teacher)
CONCLUSION: Then Jesus commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.
CHALLENGE: Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you all hidden things you need to know, He taught The disciples, Apostle Paul, Daniel and many others and He is still at work more than before. The Holy Spirit is our Teacher.
INVITATION: To have the Holy Spirit as your teacher you must first be saved so receive Jesus Christ as your Saviour. Romans 10:9
