SUNDAY 11TH OF AUGUST, 2024
LESSON FIFTY (50)
TOPIC: ETERNITY IN HEAVEN.

BIBLE TEXT: REVELATION 21:1-27
[1]And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
[2]And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
[3]And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
[4]And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
[5]And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
[6]And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
[7]He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
[8]But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
[9]And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.
[10]And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
[11]Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
[12]And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
[13]On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
[14]And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
[15]And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof………………………………….

MEMORY VERSE: John 14.3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself: that where I am, there you may be also”.

LESSON AIM: Jesus is coming back again to take you by himself to Heaven.

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Prepare daily to go with Jesus in His Father’s mansion in Heaven.

INTRODUCTION: John 14:1-3 says “Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house there are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you, I go to prepare for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you. I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am, there you may be also”. Heaven is a beautiful place prepared for you and I, may we not miss our eternal home in Jesus name.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS
A. Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away and there is no more sea Vs. I

B. Behold the tabernacle of God is with men and He shall dwell with them, and he shall be with His people. Vs 3.

C. And God shall wipe away every tears from their eyes, there shal be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be ne more pain, for former things have passed away. Vs 4.

D. And He who sat on the throne said “Behold I make all things new. And he said to me, write these words are true and faithful. He the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the End the giver of thad water of live” Vs 5-6.

E. The description of Heaven with the beautiful stones, the twelve gates that bear the name of the twelve tribes of Israel. Vs 7-21

F. No temple the Lord God Almighty and the lamb are the temple. the glory of God illuminates it and the lamb is its light, no need of sun and moon Vs 22-23

CLIMAX: And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light and the Kings of the earth bring their glory and honour into it Vs 24 (Heaven is only for the saved children of God, to enter Heaven you have to remain a child of God till His coming).

CONCLUSION: The gate shall not be shut for there shall be no right there. But there shall by no means enter if anything defiles or cause an abomination or a lie but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life Vs 26-27. (No sinner will enter Heaven, Heaven is for only and the true children of God).

CHALLENGE: Live your life for lesus and await His second coming to take you to your eternal home in Heaven. Shun anything that can
disqualify you.

INVITATION: No unsaved person can enter Heaven. Be saved today by calling on Jesus to save you from sin. John 1:12
