LESSON THIRTY SEVEN (37)
TOPIC: BENEFITS OF A GRATEFUL HEART
ENJOYING THE PRESENCE OF GOD.

BIBLE TEXT: PSALMS 16:11
[11]Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

MEMORY VERSE: Exodus 33:14 And He said, My presence shall go with the, and I will give the rest.

LESSON AIM: God wants all His children to enjoy the fullness of joy in His presence.

CENTRAL TRUTH: Grateful hearted children enjoy God’s presence.

INTRODUCTION: God created us to dwell in His Presence because we can’t survive the challenges and uncertainty of this world. Therefore, we should strive with all our might to dwell at all times in His Presence as the deer pants after the water brooks Psalm 42:1-2.As we express gratitude either through praises or doing God’s Will, He is pleased and in turn comes down to fellowship with us. The more we dwell in His Presence, the more we begin to shine for Jesus Christ as we become transformed into His likeness.

A. WHAT DOES THE PRESENCE OF GOD REPRESENT?
1 It represents the power of God. Acts 1:8.
2 It represents the glory of God. 1 Kings 8:10-11.
3 It represents the greatness of God. Daniel 4:3, Zachariah 9:17.
4 The goodness of God. Psalm 33:5.
5 The blessings of God. Ephesians 1:3.
6 The Grace of God. Romans 5:2.
7 It represent the presence of The Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:2, Matthew 12:28.

B. DWELLING IN GOD’S PRESENCE ENABLES ONE ENJOY:
1 Unspeakable Joy and Everlasting Pleasures-Psalm 16:11.
2 Divine Protection-Psalm 91:1; Psalm 97:5.
3 Unending Peace-Exodus 33:14.
4 Divine Direction- Psalm 73:23-24
5 Total Transformation-2 Corinthians 3:18.

C. WHAT CAN HINDER THE PRESENCE OF GOD IN YOUR LIFE?
1 Bad company. 2 Corinthians 6:16.
2 Acts of disobedience.
3 Lust. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17.
4 Being too busy to take time with God: Luke 10:39-40.
5 Becoming caught up with the world and its cares: 1John2:15, Matthew 13:22.
6 Doubting the Lord’s love for you: Malachi 1:2.
7 Harboring unrepented sin in our hearts: Psalm 66:18.
8 Ingratitude-Romans 1:24-32.

CONCLUSION: The bible says God inhabit the praise of His people, the more we praise God the more we invoke His presence.

LIFE APPLICATION: Cultivate the art of gratitude always in order to experience the presence of God always.

INVITATION: For you to enjoy the presence of God, you need to surrender your life to Jesus.
