The fruit of the Spirit is different from the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. The Fruit of the Spirit includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness gentleness, and self-control, while the gifts of the Holy Spirit include wisdom, knowledge, faith, healings, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, and interpretation of tongues. These blessings are not earned or acquired through human effort but are given by God as a result of our faith in Jesus Christ. As Christians, we should ask God for these gifts to serve the church and to bring glory to God.

STUDY GUIDE:
For the purpose of this lesson we shall be studying the gift of the Holy Spirit as spiritual blessing.

A. THE “WORD OF WISDOM” 1 Corinthians 12:8. This is a special ability to understand and apply divine wisdom to practical situations and decisions. It involves receiving insight and understanding from God and being able to share that wisdom with others. The gift of Wisdom was given to Solomon to be able to lead the Isrealites. 1 Kings 3:16-28.

B. THE WORD OF KNOWLEDGE “1 Corinthians 12:8: is a gift that allows an individual to have an understanding of God’s truth and wisdom. This gift involves receiving knowledge that cannot be attained through natural means and may be used to help others. It is a supernatural ability to understand and know things beyond one’s natural understanding or knowledge, we see examples of people who were given the gift of knowledge, such as Daniel, who was given knowledge and understanding about visions and dreams (Daniel 1:17-20). Jesus himself demonstrated the gift of knowledge when he spoke with the woman at the well and revealed her past and present situation (John 4:16-19).

C. THE GIFT OF FAITH: 1 Corinthians 12:9. This gift involves a special ability to trust in God’s promises and to have unwavering confidence in His goodness and sovereignty, even in the face of difficult or challenging circumstances Matthew 17:20. The gift of faith is not the same as the general faith that all believers have in God. Rather, It allows you to see beyond the present situations and to hold onto the promises of God, even when those promises have not yet been fulfilled. Hebrews 11:6.

CONCLUSION: Spiritual blessings are gifts from God that are bestowed upon believers through the Holy Spirit. These gifts are meant to be used to edify the church, bring glory to God, and build up the spiritual life of the believer

Above all, divine healing of our body, soul and spirit secures us freedom from pain, strengthen us to spread the Gospel and live joyful lives.

A. SOME BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES THAT CAN BE APPLIED TO PROMOTE OUR PHYSICAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS:

  1. Honoring our bodies: The Bible teaches that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and that we should treat them with respect and care. Encouraging children to honor their bodies through healthy habits such as regular exercise, proper nutrition, and adequate sleep can promote physical wholeness.
  2. Seeking Healing And Restoration: The Bible also contains numerous accounts of healing and restoration, demonstrating God’s desire for his people to be whole and healthy. Jesus healed many people of physical ailments during his ministry, including children (Matthew 15:30-31). Praying for physical healing and seeking medical care when necessary can also promote physical wholeness.
  3. Taking Preventive Measures: we can apply the principle of steward- ship to promote physical wholeness. This includes taking steps to prevent illness and injury through healthy habits such as hand-washing, wearing seatbelts, and using sun screen.
  4. Nurturing Emotional And Spiritual Health: While physical health is important, the Bible also emphasizes the importance of emotional and spiritual health. Proverbs 17:22 says, “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Encouraging children to develop strong emotional and spiritual foundations can contribute to overall physical health and wholeness.

B. PHYSICAL EXERCISE Regular physical exercise is important for children’s overall health and well- being. Here are some suggestions for physical exercise that can help keep children healthy:

  1. Free Play: Encourage children to engage in free play, such as running, jumping, and playing tag. This type of activity can improve cardiovascular health, strengthen muscles, and improve coordination.
  2. Sports: Participating in organized sports like soccer, basketball, or swimming can provide a fun and structured way for children to get exercise, improve their physical abilities, and develop social skills.
  3. Biking: Riding a bike is a great way to improve cardiovascular health, leg strength, and balance. It’s also a fun way to explore the outdoors.
  4. Dancing: Dancing can improve coordination, flexibility, and cardiovascular health. Encourage your child to join a dance class or dance to their favorite music at home.

C. IMPORTANCE OF PHYSICAL EXERCISE Physical wholeness is an essential aspect of children’s overall health and well-being. Here are some reasons why physical wholeness is important for children:

  1. Physical Health: Regular physical activity helps children maintain healthy body weight, build strong bones and muscles, and improve cardiovascular health. It also reduces the risk of chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
  2. Mental Health: Exercise helps improve mood, reduce stress and anxiety, and promote mental well-being. Physical activity releases endorphins in the brain, which can improve mood and reduce feelings of depression.
  3. Intellectual Development: Exercise has been linked to improved intellectual function in children, including better memory, attention, and academic performance.
  4. Social Development: Participating in physical activity can help children develop social skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. It can also provide opportunities to meet new friends and develop positive relationships.
  5. Self-Esteem: Regular exercise can help children feel more confident in their physical abilities, which can lead to improved self-esteem and body image.

CONCLUSION: It is essential that we prioritize our physical health in order to honor God and fulfill His purposes for our lives.
