ACKNOWLEDGE GOD FOR ALL HE DOES THROUGH YOU
Acts 3:9-13 (LB) When the people … saw him walking and …praising God, and realized he was the lame beggar they had seen…at The Beautiful Gate, they were inexpressibly surprised! They all rushed out …! Everyone stood there awed by the wonderful thing that had happened. Peter…addressed the crowd. “Men of Israel,”…“what is so surprising about this? And why look at us as though we by our own power and godliness had made this man walk? For it is the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob … who has brought glory to his servant Jesus by doing this.
There are many people in the world who do not like to acknowledge and glorify God. Instead, they ascribe God’s glory and honour to other things. This is a major root of the corruption and perversity going on in the world, (Rom.1:21- 24). We must never allow such people to deceive us or influence us in any way. One of the definitions of a fool in the Bible is someone who does not acknowledge God in his heart, (Psa. 14:1). This invariably means that a wise person acknowledges God.
There are some people however who acknowledge God only when they need help from God. When they get what they want or achieve their desires, they refuse to acknowledge God. They begin to think that it is solely by their power and might they have achieved what they achieved. Apostle Paul did not allow the fact that he worked very hard and achieved a lot, to stop him from acknowledging that it was by the grace of God that he became everything he was, (1Cor.15:10). In our text above, Peter was very quick to acknowledge that the miracle of healing the lame man by the beautiful gate was not done because of their power or godliness but God alone did it to glorify Christ. Yes, they held the man’s hands, commanded him to rise up and walk in Jesus’ name and they lifted him up, but it was God who worked and did the miracle through them.

David ran after the bear and lion and defeated them but he said God delivered him from the lion and the bear, (1Sam.17:37). Jesus said both His words and the things He did came from the Father, (John 14:10). Acknowledging God is wisdom and also humility. As you acknowledge God’s grace, you remain humble and God will keep filling your life with His grace and lifting you up, (James 4:6).
Faith Declaration:
Heavenly Father, my life belongs to you. All I have comes from you and all I do, I do by your power and grace. You are my everything!
