DON’T DEPEND ON HUMAN EFFORT

“And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.” 2 Samuel 6:13 KJV

David went to bring back the ark of covenant which was taken by the Philistines. The first attempt he made to bring it back, somebody died because they were bringing it back the wrong way. And so, he inquired of the Lord regarding how the ark could be brought back. Then God told him what to do. After each six steps, which represent man’s effort, he should slaughter an animal, and make a sacrifice. So after each six steps, they will slaughter an animal. The Bible says, “when I see the blood, I will pass over you.” Man’s effort is always limited but the blood enabled them and gave them divine ability to move further and gave access after each step. Man’s effort cannot take you very far. You need God.

As long as your trust is in Jesus, you can never be stranded. “They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed” (Psalms 34:5 KJV). Also, in the book of Psalms 20:7-8: “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright” (KJV).

Beloved, as long as you are led by the spirit of God, you have a bright and colourful future. God says He knows the thought He thinks towards you; they are thoughts of peace and not of evil; to give you an expected end. Your end has been determined. He is the one who started this work in you. Even though you don’t look like it now, He is working behind the scene to ensure that what He started and orchestrated is completed. He will certainly finish.

Therefore, put your trust in Him. Relax! Rest!  Don’t let somebody push you about when it comes to the things of God. The Lord will certainly come through for you.
