BIBLE TRUTH

QUESTION 1
FROM THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES, POINT OUT THE MIND OF GOD TOWARDS HIS PEOPLE. (Ps 35:27; Jer 29:11; 3 Jn 2)
God’s mind for His people is to make us enjoy His abundant blessings in all areas of our lives. God has a pleasure in the prosperity of His servants. This should make us to continually magnify the name of the Lord and live for Him. God has assured us “for I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jer 29:11 NIV). God’s mind is that our faith will not fail. He is there to uphold us in the face of any challenge as long as we are fully dependent on him, willing and ready to obey every words of His. The Bible declares to us “Beloved, I wish above all things, that thou mayest prosper and be in health, as thy soul prosperity” (3Jn 2).
In summary, it is God’s earnest desire that we prosper in all spere of life. But for us to fully enjoy these blessings, we must be willing and obedient in order to attract them to ourselves.

QUESTION 2(a)
WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS GIVEN FOR GOD’S BLESSINGS ? (Is 1:16-19)
It is a well known fact that God’s love is unconditional. Even while we were yet sinners God commended His love towards us. However, there are some conditions that must be metin order to receive God’s blessings. The individual must begin witht repentance his/her sins and believe in the cleansing blood the Lord Jesus that was shed for us. Thereafter, the believer is expected to live for God, demonstrating good works in all aspects of his/her life (Is 1:18). We must be willing and obedient to God’s divine instructions.

QUESTION 2(b)
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO NE WILLING AND OBEDIENT ?
To ‘be willing’ implies that one has his desire to hear instructions that he/she is being given concerning a matter while ‘being obedient’ means being determined to carry out an instruction as directed. Being willing and obedient therefore means having the readiness and the eagerness to receive an instruction and also to carry out the instruction to the fullest. We must watch our willingness with our obedience.

QUESTION 3
MENTION SOME AREAS IN WHICH GOD DEMANDS OBEDIENCE FROM THE BELIEVER (2Tim 4:2; 1 Cor 4:2; Jn 13:34-35; Eph 6:1-3; Rom 12:11)
There are some areas in which God demands obedience from man. We are expected to be His faithful witnesses, preaching and teaching His word at all times. We must demonstrate love to one another as directed by the Lord Himself. God expects us to follow His word in our relationships with parents, spouses, fellow believers, neighbors etc. We are to be fervent in spirit always, living in obedience to God in all areas of our lives.

QUESTION 4
FROM THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES, IDENTIFY SOME OF THE BLESSINGS THAT GOD HAS PROMISED US. (Ex 15:26; Isa 53:5; Ps 91:16; 32:8; Phil 4:19; Matt 6:33; Deut 28:1-14).
God has promised us many blessings as long as we are willing and obedient to His divine instructions. We enjoy divine healing and divine health. God will not put the diseases of the Egyptians upon us as long as we hearken to His voice and do that which is right in His sight and keep His commandments and His statutes. Christ has borne our diseases and by His stripes we are healed. God will satisfy us with long life and show us His salvation. God will instruct us and teach us in the way we will go. He will guide us with His eyes. He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. God’s store house is inexhaustible so we rest assured that He will meet our needs. As we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all other things will be added unto us. So many blessings abound as long as we diligently obey the voice of the Lord our God and observe to do all His commandments. Many of these blessings are enumerated in Deuteronomy 28:1-14.

QUESTION 5
HOW DOES BE WILLING AND OBEDIENT HELP US APPROPRIATE THESE BLESSINGS ?
God’s blessings can only be given to us when we meet the conditions attached. When we are willing and obedient, it means that we are ready to heed divine instructions and ready to carry them out. God is always pleased with those who obey Him with sincerity and not just by paying lips service. The numerous blessings that God has for those who are willing and obedient to His word and instructions should motivate us to remain focused on God in order to enjoy divine providence.

DAILY LIVING APPLICATION
Our God is ver mindful of His children. He has loved us with an everlasting love and has drawn us to himself with His loving kindness. He has given us all things richly to enjoy. He has promised that He will never leave nor forsake us. It is clearly evident from the scriptures that God’s mind towards us is of that of blessings and prosperity. God has made all the necessary provisions. It is now left for us to respond to His benevolence by playing our own part. It is only in willingness and obedience of our hearts to God and His word that we can eat the good of the land.

MEMORY VERSE
Isaiah 1:19. “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land”
