Empowered to Spread the Abundant Peace of Christ
John 20:19-22 (AMPC)
Then on that same first day of the week, when it was evening, though the disciples were behind closed doors for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, Peace to you! So saying, He showed them His hands and His side. And when the disciples saw the Lord, they were filled with joy (delight, exultation, ecstasy, rapture). Then Jesus said to them again, Peace to you! [Just] as the Father has sent Me forth, so I am sending you. And having said this, He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit!
The first thing Jesus said to His disciples after He rose from the dead was, “peace to you!” He did not just say this, He showed them the evidence of their peace; His hands and side that were pierced. He wanted them to see that the price of their peace, redemption, wholeness and victory had been fully paid and this filled them with joy. Then, for a second time He said to them, “peace to you!” and He added, “As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”

Jesus came to bring God’s peace to us and He has also empowered us to go and bring His peace into the lives of others. The peace of Christ does not come alone. It comes with prosperity, wholeness and victory. What a great privilege we have been given to bring the peace of God into the lives of others. Wherever you find yourself, always remember that you are there to spread the peace of Christ and you are empowered to spread the peace of Christ there.
One way we spread the peace of Christ is by preaching the gospel to people and bringing them into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The gospel is described as the gospel of peace (Eph.6:15). As we declare the gospel, we are releasing the peace and blessings of God into the lives of people. When you have the consciousness, you will be more eager to preach the gospel to people. We also spread Christ’s peace by manifesting God’s authority and power to calm every storm in the lives of people. As you help people fix their minds on Jesus, they will experience God’s peace. For He will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on Him because they trust in Him, (Isa.26:3).
Prayer Focus:
Thank God for the abundant peace of Christ that you have received that is overflowing from your life. Ask God to use you to spread His peace today.
