Have You Asked God for it?

James 4:2 (TPT, GNB)
You jealously want what others have so you begin to see yourself as better than others. You scheme with envy and harm others to selfishly obtain what you crave—that’s why you quarrel and fight. And all the time you don’t obtain what you want because you won’t ask God for it! *You want things, but you cannot have them, so you are ready to kill; you strongly desire things, but you cannot get them, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have what you want because you do not ask God for it.

One reason many people miss out on the exceeding grace and blessings that God seeks to manifest in their lives is simply because they refuse to pray and ask God for that desire. Instead, they are willing to worry, struggle, quarrel, fight, cheat, go to any length and do everything else apart from praying about it. Child of God, we are different from the people of this world and so the way we go about getting our needs and desires met must be different. God wants us to pray about everything. The Bible says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (Phil.4:6-7, NLT.)

What God wants to give you are things that you cannot think of or pay for (Isa.55). He is your loving, Heavenly Father and He longs to give you good gifts (Matt.7:7-11, James 1:17). As you seek God for it, He will begin to guide and direct you on how you can go about receiving them. He will orchestrate things in your favour and He will begin to guide you by His Spirit and from His word. He will also lead you to the right sources where you can get necessary information about it. The Bible says, “Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.” (Prov.16:3, AMP.) Ask in faith. Ask in the name (authority) of Jesus. Ask boldly as if it were Jesus asking. Jesus said, “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” (John 16:24, NIV.)

Action Point:
Talk to your loving, Heavenly Father right now and ask Him for what you desire. Thank Him for hearing you and providing for you.
