WHAT ARE YOU HEARING AND SEEING?

“The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.” Matthew 11:5 KJV

The scripture above was the response of Jesus to John when he sent his disciples to ask Jesus: “Are you the one or should we look for another?” You wonder what is the relationship between the answer Jesus gave and the question that was asked. Jesus was simply laying emphasis on what you hear and see. It is hearing and seeing that produces faith. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word. You don’t stop hearing– you are either hearing the Word of God or the word of the devil.

If you are hearing the negative things, you will be under pressure and suffer from various health challenges including hypertension. People are committing suicide as a result of what they are hearing and seeing. But Jesus drew John’s attention to the positive news. In other words, never stop hearing the right thing and never give attention to what the world is saying.

John was confused in the midst of the contradictions of life and Jesus knew that the problem was what he was now hearing and seeing. It is what you hear that determines what you see. Thus, Jesus told them what they should hear and see: The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preach to them.

Jesus is still saying the same thing to you. Don’t be overwhelmed by all that is going on around you; focus on the word of God. Spend time to meditate on the word of God. Ensure you surround yourself with those that will speak faith into your life. Make sure that you constantly build your faith through the word of God and that is the only way to starve your doubt. What you see is what you get. Who you see in your mind’s eye is who you become. The choice is yours.
