HOW WE THANK GOD ALWAYS AND IN ALL THINGS

1Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV, TPT, GNB, CEV)

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ …concerning you. *And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ…. *be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus. *Whatever happens, keep thanking God because of Jesus Christ. This is what God wants you to do.

In Ephesians 5:20, the Bible says, “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” The first thing we must know is that if God wants us to give thanks always and for all things, in Christ, He has given us the grace and ability to do this. As such, our thanksgiving must not be limited to certain times and certain kinds of situations. Our thanksgiving must be unlimited.

It is easy to give thanks in good and favourable times, but it can be challenging to give thanks in difficult and trying times. The way to give thanks in difficult and trying times is by thanking God that because of Christ we already have the victory (2Cor.2:14) and that situation has worked out for our good, (Rom.8:28). When there are symptoms of sickness in our body, we don’t thank God that we are sick, we thank God that Christ has healed us already, (1Pet.2:24). If we do not have money on us, we do not thank God that we are poor, we thank God that Christ was made poor so we might be made rich, (2Cor.8:9). As we do this, the will of God (our healing & provision) is activated in our lives. Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Always say and do everything with the authority of Christ and be thankful to God that because of Christ you already have the victory.

Prayer:
I thank you Heavenly Father that because of Christ I have the victory and all things have worked out for my good.
