Memorise: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him. Genesis 26:14

Bible Reading: 2 Kings 6:13-14

  1. And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.
  2. Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.

Bible Reading In One Year: Proverbs 19-30; 2 Corinthians 3:1-18

MESSAGE:

A very powerful tool in the hand of the devil is discouragement, so don’t allow discouragement even if you have not achieved the goals you have set for this year. To meet and surpass those goals, you need persistence. Be as persistent as blind Bartimaeus who refused to stop calling for Jesus attention even while people who thronged around him tried to shut him up. If he had stopped, he would have died a poor blind beggar (Mark 10:46-52).

Do you know that Gods plan for you is that you will never be ignored by anyone? In Genesis 26:12-14, Isaac became so great that a nation envied him. They couldn’t ignore him. Solomon is another example of a great man that couldn’t be ignored. People came from far and near with gifts just to hear his wise sayings. If you persist in your studies, even your teachers will find it difficult to ignore you. If you also don’t relent in your prayers this year, God will hear you and take you to heights far above your imagination.

Prayer Point:

Father, bless me abundantly so that I can impart my world.

Hymn: I’m Pressing On The Upward Way

  1. I’m pressing on the upward way,
    New heights I’m gaining every day;
    Still praying as I onward bound,
    “Lord, plant my feet on higher ground”.

Chorus:
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith on heaven’s table-land;
Where love and joy and light abound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

  1. My heart has no desire to stay,
    Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
    Though some may dwell where these abound,
    My constant aim is higher ground.
  2. Beyond the mist I fain would rise,
    To rest beneath unclouded skies,
    Above earth’s turmoil peace is found
    By those who dwell on higher ground.
  3. I long to scale the utmost height,
    Though rough the way, and hard the fight,
    My song while climbing shall resound
    Lord lead me on to higher ground.
  4. Lord lead me up the mountain side,
    I dare not climb without my Guide;
    And Heaven gained, I’ll gaze around,
    With grateful heart from higher ground.
