KEEP SUBMITTING YOURSELF TO GOD

Romans 12:1-2 (NLT), Philippians 2:13 (LB).
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.*For God is at work within you, helping you want to obey him, and then helping you do what he wants.

Because of God’s great love for you, He sent Jesus to suffer and die for your sins and give you a new life and nature. Now, all your sins are forgiven and your nature has been changed. You have been made righteous in the sight of God. Now, you have hope; both in this life and in eternity. You are a member of the family of God and you have been made a king and priest that will reign on this earth, (Rev.5:10). Are you really grateful for this great privilege? Do you really understand the magnitude of all that God has done for you through His Son Jesus Christ? One way to show you understand these things and that you are grateful to God for them is for you to continue to submit yourself to God.

By the virtue of your faith in Jesus and receiving His life, your life no longer belongs to you. In fact, it is no longer you that is living but Christ that is living through you, (Gal.2:20). For you are dead, your life is hidden with Christ in God and Christ is your life (Col.3:3-4). God is now alive and at work in you making you willing and able to do His will. God will not force you to do His will or manifest His life and nature, but as you submit yourself to Him, He will have more control over your life and He will fill you with more of Himself. As you willingly yield yourself to God, He will help you know His will and He will work out His life and nature through you.

The more you fill yourself with God’s Word and the more you are conscious of the presence of God’s Spirit at work in your life, the more you will submit yourself to God. Let the revelation of Christ dwell in you richly (Col.3:16). As it influences your mind, it will transform your life.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your mighty work and power in me.
Fill me with your word and your Spirit. I belong to you and I submit myself to you.
