Rhema For Living 22nd July 2022 OFM Devotional MESSAGE

Salvation gives you the platform for making your life count. By strength shall no man prevail. (1 Sam. 2:9). It is not of works lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:9). It is by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. That is why outside Christ, no matter how hard you thrive, your life cannot count because it is not on the platform where lives count.

In the book of John 3:1-7, there was an account of a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews who came to Jesus by night. His statement to Jesus was correct but not from the platform of salvation. Jesus therefore said to him, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Expect a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3. In other words, expect you are born again, there is nothing you say or do that counts in the sight of God.

The disciples of Jesus were men of their various professions but their lives did not make a meaningful impact until they encountered the master, Jesus. In Matthew 4:17-20, Jesus was preaching and saying “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand and he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.

And he said unto them, ‘Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men’ and they followed Him. That was the beginning of their success story which we read about in the Acts of the apostles.

Life outside Jesus is a life full of emptiness no matter efforts put into it because it does not count before one’s maker.

PRAYER: MY Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, help me to live in you and make my life count.
