MANIFESTING GOD’S RIGHTEOUS NATURE

1Peter 2:24, Hebrews 1:8b-9

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. …Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

God expects us to manifest His righteous nature because we are born of Him and we now have His life and nature in us. We are no more sinners. Right now, just like Jesus, we hate sin and we love righteousness. We love and enjoy pleasing God and doing His will and we hate yielding ourselves to the things that we have already died to, through the death of Christ on the Cross, (Rom.6:2-7). As believers, we are not meant to sin. Even though John was talking about God’s mercy available to us if we sin, he said the major reason he was talking about it was so that believers will not sin, (1 John 2:1).

God’s standard of holiness and righteousness has not dropped because Jesus died for us; it has even risen higher (Matt.5:21-30) because we have a higher life. As we yield to the leading of the Spirit of God, God produces His righteous nature through us, (Rom.8:4).

To manifest God’s righteous nature, we must first acknowledge that we have it, then we must yield to God’s word and His Spirit. We can only manifest God’s righteous nature by faith. Just as we looked to Christ to receive the forgiveness of our sins, we must keep looking to Him to experience and manifest the victory over the power of sin. It is as we have received Him that we must walk in Him, (Col.2:6).

Faith Declaration:
I have God’s righteous nature. As I yield to God’s word and Spirit, God produces His righteous nature through me.
