“And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass. And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.”
Mark 6:39-40. KJV
The Church of Jesus Christ ought to be full of the most joyful people on earth. We should rest and stop moving up and down. During the miracle of the feeding of the multitudes as documented in the book of Mark 6:39, Jesus said ‘make them sit down.’ They sat down before the bread was multiplied. What does that mean? Rest! Jesus is with you! He will never leave you nor forsake you. He that believeth does not make haste. Rest because it is already done. Rest! There is nothing you are going through that Jesus doesn’t know about.
Hebrews 4:15-16 says: “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need”
Beloved, learn to rest. Even when you have not signed the contract, rest. Rest, if this door is closed, another will be opened. Get excited about whatever situation that you find yourself. God is at work in the affairs of your life.
In that same Mark 6 in verse 45, after feeding the multitudes, Jesus constrained the disciples to go to the other side while he sent away the people. When Jesus came, he saw that their ship was in the midst of the sea and they were toiling in rowing for the wind was contrary. Jesus came unto them walking on the sea, the contrary wind had no effect on Jesus. When they saw Him, they were afraid for they thought it was a ghost, but He said to them, ‘Be of good cheer, it is I, don’t be afraid.’ You see, anytime you are in a situation, Jesus is actually working on that situation. You are never alone. So, do not make haste and don’t panic. Every storm in your life will cease in Jesus’ name.
