Memorise: “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God”. 2 Corinthians 7:1

Read: 2 Corinthians 7:10-11

10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

Bible In One Year: 1 Kings 12:1-33; Luke 13:1-34; Luke 24:36-53.

MESSAGE:

A brother came to my office some years ago. He introduced himself as an Evangelist, but he has two wives. He reeled out testimonies of miracles in his ministry. Then he made a mistake of asking counsel from me on how he could excel in the ministry. I told him, thank God for miracles, signs and wonders, but Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23, He will ask the workers of iniquity to depart from Him.

He looked at me with surprise and wondered how the testimonies that he shared he shared were related to rejection by Jesus. Seeing he had not got the message, I plainly told him Sir, you have two wives. Perform all the miracles in the world, you will still end up in hell. He was very angry and left. Years later, he back came to thank me. He said you are the best friend I ever had. That day, I came for counselling, I was angry, but now I know better. I was continually haunted by your word until I did restitution. Do you constantly evaluate yourself in totality?

Do you often go to people that will give you honest assessment, not minding if it offends you or not? When you do this, you need to take steps to make necessary adjustments.

Prayer Point:

Ask God to point out every area that you are falling short and give you the grace to do things right.

Hymn 7:

1.Take my life and let it be
Consecrated Lord to thee
Take my moment and days
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

2.Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of thy love
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for thee

3.Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my king
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from thee.

4.Take my silver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as thou shalt choose.

5.Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall no longer be mine:
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,

6.Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At They feet its treasure store;
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for thee
