THE PLACE OF RESURRECTION IN GOD’S REDEMPTIVE PLAN

“And when they were assembled with the elders and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night and stole him away while we slept.” Matthew

Resurrection is so key and so important and strategic to our Christian faith. It is the way by which we come into a new life. You see, the question is: if the resurrection is unimportant, why was it so important for the religious rulers to hide the truth?

The devil understood the implication of what had just happened! Resurrection was a supernatural operation of God. The Resurrection was the birth of the New Testament church, and the devil wanted to hide this truth from the people.

Resurrection made it possible for the emergence of new creations in Christ who will walk in this life as Christ walked. By reason of resurrection, God began to see the believer in Christ. God doesn’t see you in you; He sees you in Christ.

The “In Him” concept was made possible by the resurrection of Christ from the dead. Looking at the scriptures from Genesis to Revelation, you will see this “In Him” concept all through, even in the Old Testament, which is in the types and shadows of what is to come. The Old Testament saints only saw types and shadows of what we enjoy today. If it was possible, I am sure they would have loved to experience the new birth, but God kept it for us that they, without us, cannot be complete.

Today, as we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection, reflect on what it really means to you. Don’t generalise it, personalise it. Thank God for the opportunity to be ‘In Christ.’ Take time to look at that phrase “In Him” or “In Christ” and better understand what Jesus made available for you, on this day, over 2000 years ago. Happy Resurrection.
