CENTRAL THOUGHT:
Uncommon Supernatural all-round solution comes from God

DATE: SUNDAY 23RD MARCH, 2025
HYMN: S. S & S 513. “0 God, our help in Ages Post.”

TOPIC: FOCUS ON CHRIST FOR SUPERNATURAL SOLUTIONS.

TEXT:Psalm. 46:1; 2Chron.20:12; Heb.13:5.

INTRODUCTION:
To focus on Christ for Supernatural Solutions is to direct one’s full attention
or concentration on Christ’s
supernatural intervention in human situations that
seem hopeless. There is no problem on earth that can defy the potency of Christ solutions because He is able to do exceeding, abundantly
more than we will ever be
able to ask or imagine.
When caught in a web of
difficulties and problems,
apply the power of prayer
of faith. Don’t give up. That little prayer of faith can move that big mountain.

LESSON OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson we shall be able to:

  1. explain the concept “Supernatural Solutions”;
  2. identify some typical reaction of some people when faced with challenges;
  3. discuss how a believer can experience supernatural solutions, and
  4. discuss how a bcliever must act when the Supernatural solutions seem delayed.

BIBLE TRUTH:
Q1. WHAT I S SUPERNATURAL SOLUTION?
The ministry of our Lord
Jesus while on earth was
characterised by a strong desire to resolve problems that have defied human solutions. Supernatural solutions are beyond human efforts and attempts at providing solutions to
problems. To focus on Christ is to centre on, or concentrate on Him for solutions to any challenge.
Apostle Peter focused on Christ to walk on the water which was a Supernatural phenomenon. It was when he removed his focus from Christ that he began to sink.
The challenge of sinking was
resolved by returning his focus to Christ.(Matt. 14:26-31). It is essential for a believer to focus absolutely on Christ.

Q2. WHAT IS THE TYPICAL
REACTION OF MANY WHEN FACED WITH CHALLENGES?
Naturally, there is no human who desires to go through
challenges or difficulties in life.
Some typical reactions include the following:
(a). LACK OF TRUST IN GOD’S SOVEREIGNTY AND ABILITIES. They become
frustrated as they allow anxiety to take hold on them.
(b). LACK OF PATIENCE. In
Gen.26:12-14, we are told that
Isaac laboured sweating and
toiling until God blessed him. He waxed great, went forward and grew until he became very great.
Learn to live one day at a time.
(c.). PRACTICE OF
DISHONESTY. When an
individual decides to practice
dishonesty because of financial challenges, he may go down the way of destruction.
(d). LAXITY. Don’t give room
to laxity of any kind in times of challenges; rather be committed to serving God and man whole heartedly.
(e). COMPARING
THEMSELVES TO
THEMSELVES. 2Cor. 10:12
admonish us that if we do that, we are not wise.
(f). FEAR: In times of
challenges some people allow fear to cripple and paralyze them from moving forward.Fear is the greatest enemy of success and productivity.
(g). INGRATITUDE: Psalm
107:1 says “O gives thanks unto the Lord for He is good and His mercy endureth for ever”. Lack Dr Dr CT CTof gratitude for what the Lord
has done in time past can
prevent one from seeking His
intervention in challenging
situations.

Q3. READ MARK 5:21-43
AND DISCUSS THE
CHALLENGES BROUGHT
BEFORE CHRIST. WHAT
WERE THE OUTCOMES?
The two challenges in this passage brought before
Christ were:
(i). The woman who had an
incurable condition causing her to bleed continuously which made her ritually uncleanb(Lev.15:25-27).
(ii). The death of Jairus’s
daughter.
These two challenges were turned into miracles to
demonstrate the power of Jesus Christ over disease and death and His response to simple faith. God changed a situation that had been a problem for twelve years in the life of the woman. Jairus the Synagogue administrator came to Jesus when it was too late for anyone else to help. But Jesus simply went to the girl and raised her back to life. In our contemporary life with challenges Christ makes the difference. The woman’s faith which included not only her confidence in Christ’s restorative but her importunate power, initiative as an unclean woman
(Lev. 15:19), occasioned her
healing.

Q 4. USING THE FOLLOWING POINTS, DISCUSS HOW THE
BELIEVER CAN EXPERIERC E
SUPERNATURAL SOLUTIONS.
(A). PRAYERS -2SAM.5:17-20; ACTS. 12:1-11. The challenge in each of the two passages received supernatural solutions through fervent and
aggressive prayers. David
enquired (prayed) from the Lord if he could go against the Philistines who came to stop him from uniting Israel under himself as the King. Similarly, King, Herod killed James the Apostle and went ahead to arrest Apostle Peter to be killed after Easter, but prayer was made without
ceasing by the Church unto God for him. God answered their(Church) prayer by sending an angel to release him from prison. Hannah experienced supernatural solution to barrenness through her fervent prayer. 1Sam. 1:10-11,20.
(B). FAITH- Heb.11:6;
Mk.5:22-28. Without faith, it is
impossible to please God.
Nothing so pleases God as
steadfast faith in all that He is
and promises to do. The woman with the issue of blood, by faith got her healing.
(C.). FOCUS ON CHRIST-
Isaiah.45:22; Heb.12:1-2.
Salvation is for everyone who
looks up to and follows Christ
the Messiah. Any person who
focuses on Christ is given the
opportunity to follow Him. To
live effectively in this world as
Christians, we must keep our
eyes on Jesus. You can stumble when you look away from Him to stare at yourselves or at circumstances surrounding you like Apostle Peter in
Matt. 14:28-30.
(D). PRAISE- Acts.16:25-26.
Paul and Silas were stripped,
beaten, whipped, and placed in stocks in the inner dungeon.
Despite this dismal situation,
they praised God, praying and
singing, and then suddenly,
supernatural solution emerged from God. There is power and supernatural solutions to challenges through praise.
(E.). STUDYING AND
DECLARING GOD’S WORD- Jerermiah 1:12; Isa 55:10-11. Every of God’s Word has a backing from God Himself.
He said, “…. I will hasten my
word to perform it.” Every.
human problem/challenge has divine solutions from God’s word. He has highly magnified His Words above all His name. Learn to declare God’s word over your situations. No declared word of God returns to Him void
but it shall accomplish that which He pleases, and it shall prosper in the thing where unto He sends it.
F). GIVING -Psalm.50:14-15.
Any call on God for solutions in the day of trouble and expecting answers must be hinged on four obedience to the will of God for your life. Thanksgiving and the payment of your vows to Him is also important. However,
the ritualistic sacrifices are of no value unless they depict genuine thanksgiving to God and total dependence on Him.
(G). DESIRE SUPERNATURAL
SOLUTIONS.- When faced with any challenge in life, develop adequate “quantity” of longing, craving for supernatural solutions from God. Press him to receive your solutions.(Lk.18:1-8, 15:17)

  1. HO W MUST THE
BELIEVER ACT WHEN THE SUPERNATURAL SOLUTION SEEM DELAYED? Heb.10:35-39; Dan.10:12-14.
We are encouraged not to shrink from our faith in times
    of prolonged difficulties and
challenges, but to show by our endurance that our faith is real.
    Endure suffering and remain
faithful to God. Hold tightly to
    God’s promises, continue in
    Godliness. Our prolonged
suffering can build our character and patience.
Answers to our prayers may be hindered by unseen
obstacles or forces like in the
    case of Daniel (Dan.10:12-14).
Pray fervently and earnestly and expect God to answer in His own way and good time.
Remember that God has the ability to bring us healing when we are hurt, peace when we are troubled and strength when we are weak.

DAILY LIVING APPLICATION:
When you find yourself feeling overwhelmed by challenges of life, remember, God has a solution for everything. In faith, earnestly desire the Lord to turn things around for your good.
While you tarry in life remain confident and patient, knowing that He is faithful that has promised (Heb.10:23). One major way the believer can live a
victorious life is by Christ being the focus of his faith. Constancy, perseverance, steadfastness, patient, endurance describes the
capacity to continue to bear up under difficult circumstances, not with a passive complacency but with a hopeful fortitude that
actively resists weariness and
defeat. We must not be found
drawing back because of
challenges of this life, for in
doing so, you may lose your soul.

“God is our refuge and
strength, a very present help in trouble”
