Be Diligent in Your Work

Proverbs 10:4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

Proverbs 12:24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.

Proverbs 13:4 The soul of the sluggard desireth and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

Proverbs 21:5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness: but of every one that is hasty only to want.

Proverbs 22:29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

You are not only rewarded in working in God’s house. God also rewards you for your diligent work in your business and profession, Eph. 6:8. Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Colossians 3:22-24 says, “Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye service, as men pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” The Bible speaks extensively on how to be faithful to masters or leaders (Eph. 6:5, Col. 3:22) and also how masters or leaders must treat those who serve under them, rightly knowing they also have a master in Heaven, Col. 4:1

In Proverbs 12:27, the Bible says, “The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.” Roasting what you get from hunting helps to preserve it, allowing you to process different parts for varying uses. People who are diligent know how to develop and refine things in order to unveil ideas, products and value from them. Do not cheat or steal from people or from your organization. Ephesians 4:28 says, “Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.” How would Jesus do your work if He were working in that office or business? The Bible says that Jesus did all things well (Mark 7:37) and that He had uncommon wisdom by which He did mighty works, (Mark 6:2). This shall be your testimony in your work place. People shall see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the abundant grace and wisdom that you have given me to be diligent and to do exploits in my work place.
